Intaglio specializes in designing, engineering, and integrating technology that connects people for the purpose of communicating.
Intaglio started as a concept, leading to a business partnership between Kirk Grimshaw and Peter Larson. Both veterans in the audiovisual industry with dreams of building a great company.
Kirk Grimshaw is a graduate of Michigan State University. Out of college (1986), he worked for Westinghouse’s Group W Broadcasting until 1992. That year he was hired by City Animation Co., where he started the growth of its West Michigan offices. Focusing on audiovisual system design and consulting, media production, and live event staging.
Peter Larson is a graduate of the University of Illinois-Chicago. Out of college (1978), he started working for Loyola University in video production. In 1984, he formed the company Dream Factory, which later became Intaglio Productions.
In 1999, Kirk and Peter decided to build a company together and formed Intaglio Visual Arts and Technologies. Through the acquisition of City Animation Co. and Intaglio Productions, we became the largest full-service audiovisual company in Western Michigan and one of the very few committed to customer-focused total quality. Our focus became AV equipment sales, rental, and service; sound reinforcement and acoustic design; multi-media and production services to the staging and display industry. Together, Intaglio and its employees became the best in the business through mutual respect and professional concern for their customers and each other.
To further focus our expertise and growth in 2006, Intaglio refined its business plan. Our attention was turned to AV systems design and integration specifically. This focus led us to multiple product design awards, multiple US patents, and the introduction of our own brands, InForum and Dialogue. Since 2006, we have had many projects published by industry and business magazines, including Sound and Video Contractor, Prosound, Archi-Tech, FOH, and Avixa. Currently, Intaglio has installed projects and services for clients all over the world.
In 2022, after over 20 years of successful business partnerships, Kirk became sole owner of Intaglio, and Peter started his next chapter of life in retirement.

We are happy to say that our clients are our friends, and we view our relationship with them as a partnership—a serious partnership formed to achieve their goals. We never enter into a new relationship with a client, large or small, without the fervent belief that we will make a positive impact on their business.
At Intaglio, we are more than just technology gurus. Many of us have industry and association continuing education training and certifications. But while that may be helpful when specifying and selecting technology, the most important experience we bring is that we are also users. That gives us the expertise to design and integrate your presentation and conferencing solutions into an easy-to-use system. We know that your focus should be on communicating your message, not operating the equipment. As “WOW"-provoking as our solutions are, they’re also simple, straightforward, and incredibly efficient.
Intaglio, because our values call us to
respect
people, our mission becomes to reclaim technology; to provide for people to take back control
of the gadgets and gizmos and allow them to use technology to
enhance
their work and lives.
The way it should be.
We believe technology systems should work for you (not the other way around). You don't have to be an IT wizard to use our systems, but the IT team will be thankful for all the embedded "behind-the-scenes" features. Showing only functionality you need in the moment. We help people take back control of technology to enhance their work and lives--to allow technology to connect people to each other.
